Midtown - Atlanta
Midtown is situated between Downtown and Buckhead, providing easy access to both business centers and to the 135 office buildings within the district.
Midtown is cosmopolitan. Midtown is hot. And its growth has recently jumped west over the Downtown Connector into Atlantic Station and surrounding neighborhoods.
About 36,000 people live within one mile of the 10th and Peachtree streets intersection. Add another two miles to the radius and 138,000 people call the area home. The daytime workforce is 288,000.
Midtown stands apart from all other parts of the city because of the unparalleled collection of arts and cultural activities: the Fox Theater, the High Museum of Art, the Atlanta Symphony and a host of others.
Plaza Midtown950 West Peachtree Street, Midtown
Daniel Corp. and Selig Enterprises Inc. partnered to develop The Plaza Midtown, a $100 million, mixed-use development in Midtown Atlanta featuring high-rise residential condominiums and 70,000 square feet of retail space anchored by a Publix supermarket.
Plaza Midtown sales are began in January 2005. The first 100 closings are expected in January 2006. The entire project is set to be completed July 2006.
The 20-story, 550,000-square-foot project, which is located on a 3.3-acre site spanning Eighth Street to Peachtree Place, will offer 452 one-bedroom and two-bedroom condos. The units will be offered from $180,000 and boast hardwood floors, granite countertops, 10-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, garden tubs and expansive balconies.
The developer has announced that Publix will take 35,000 square feet of the 70,000 square feet of street-level retail space. Commercial Property News reports Publix will use the space to roll out a new urban market concept featuring gourmet take-out, an extensive wine selection and fresh sushi along with traditional grocery items. The remaining space will house boutique retailers, restaurants and entertainment.
The Plaza Midtown marks Daniel and Selig's first venture together. Daniel will develop the residential component and Selig will own, lease and manage the retail component.
Construction for The Plaza Midtown started in September 2004.
The architect for the project is Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates. The Atlanta firm has provided architectural services for Riverside Village/Post Properties Headquarters in Cobb County; the J.W. Mariott Hotel and Conference Center in Buckhead; the three-building Mayfair residential complex in Midtown; and other notable projects.
The sales agent representing the developer is Morris & Raper Realtors. I represent buyers and my primary focus is Intown condominium properties. I will provide my clients with insights to the property and the developer and represent your interests in the purchase.
